BNY Mellon's strategy to become a technology company is expressed by our NEXEN platform which will provide one consistent interface of all mid- and back-office functions of the bank to the customers and partners in the NEXEN universe.

The regulators demand for common sense measures to increase the quality of the data for the regulatory reports across the enterprise. We use that as the driving force to re-think our Data-management practices, not only for the regulatory reports but to "unify" all enterprise data using semantic technologies, building the NEXEN Knowledge Graph with FIBO at the core.

Jacobus is Head of the "NEXEN Data" team and the architect of the first Enterprise Knowledge Graph platform in the industry. He is also Lead Ontologist for the Knowledge Graph, which is based on FIBO and several other open standard ontologies.
